I began my career in 1997, working as a consultant at Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy.

In 2001 I joined Nike as Brand Initiatives Leader in the UK, then later worked as European Marketing Director and ultimately UK General Manager for Hurley International, a Nike subsidiary.

In 2006 I co-founded a business called Attention Seekers, specialising in content and branded entertainment, working with clients like Electronic Arts, SonyBMG, Nike, Channel 4 and Sky to produce live events, digital content and broadcast programming.

In 2010 I set up Lou Dawson Consultancy, to pursue my own projects and consult for clients predominantly in third sector organisations.

In 2014 I co-founded Smith Dawson, the agency I run today together with my creative partner Mark Smith. In addition to the work we do for paying clients I’ve continued to take on a certain amount of pro-bono work, either through Smith Dawson or independently for not for profit / campaigning organisations.
